yes, that's fish! for breakfast! saba shioyaki (salt-grilled mackerel) to be exact. plus some supremely sour pickles and a greek salad. if living in japan taught me anything, it's how to appreciate stuff that comes from the sea for breakfast, whether it's clams in a nice miso broth, slices of octopus, or seaweed. or a shiny silver hunk o' mackerel!
